gingered pear fruit cream (a glorified smoothie)
i’ve already had a billion colds this winter. the other day, i thought to myself, “self, let’s do something about that”.
in that moment, this smoothie was born. it contains all the immune boosting ingredients in my cabinet and also tastes like heaven! what a combination.
here’s the recipe if you want to make it too:
1 green pear
1/2 cup almond milk
3 (very ripe) frozen bananas
1 teaspoon raw honey
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, or a little slice of fresh
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 inch piece fresh aloe gel (take from an aloe leaf)
1 teaspoon spirulina
teensy pinch of sea salt
chop pear and add it to your food processor with 1/2 cup almond milk. puree until really really smooth.
chop frozen bananas and add them to the pot, along with all remaining ingredients. puree for a few minutes, or until the mixture has the consistency of soft serve ice cream.
think not-sick thoughts.
p.s. if you don’t have weird ingredients like aloe and spirulina on hand, you can totally leave them out. their addition is more about immune boosting power - they don’t contribute much to the taste.
